Weekend In Germany

So we made a quick jump over the English Channel and did some sight seeing in germany for the weekend! We were able to see a lot, but this post will probably wrap things up for me here in London. Here are just a 'few' of the things we saw!

Beautiful landscape view of the Alps.
Entering Neuschwanstein Castle.
This view is absolutely amazing, as they all are, but this one is special. Too bad they had to be repairing when we came (scaffolding all over the back!)Nymphenburg Castle. Huge display of buildings, and a very large garden in the back.

Random Pics

Not necessarily in order that I did, or visited, but here's some more stuff I checked out recently. If I had more time I would explain them better, so sorry. Love you Lyss and Kard!!

Tower from the inside (courtyard space), the Tower of London is a castle fortification on the river bank. Kings lived here or fled here during time of war.

We traveled to the city of Oxford yesterday and got to see the prestigious Oxford University. Each individual program has its own housing, dining hall, and chapel. The dining hall when Harry Potter and his laddies eat is actually from one of the halls on this campus (but they wouldn't let us in). The school has been around since the early 1800's. They have lots of traditions like a any Ivy League school and you can tell they are stuck up about it (based on the tour guide).

This portal overlooks the grass that you get charged $28 for if you are caught walking on.The chapel

The dining hall where they eat together three times a day. They are required to where their Oxford Robes as well!
Downtown is filled with Victorian style buildings (and a strange man, if you can find him)

A Week in Wales

This week we are visiting a center for alternative technology in Wales, UK. It's pretty much a bunch of hippie stuff that is really expensive to do to your houses. In all, we are learning really good practices, but I would never want to live exactly like these people. We only get hot water when the sun is out or when the wind is blowing, and we only get vegetarian food at the cafeteria (not good for me!!.

Getting off the train.A look out into the landscape from our eco-houses.
Our eco-house where we are staying for the week.
This is a local town nearby where the students walk to visit the pub. It was actually quite fun playing darts and pool, even though others were drinking all around.

Just a little more London

On our second day we decided to go downtown and see the Parliment Building, Big Ben (the clock tower), and the southbank along the river. It's super easy to get around downtown as long as you get a subway pass. The UK has tons of different nationalities and languages that are spoken. You could sit next to someone who you would think was English, until they would start speaking some crazy language. And it's even hard to understand some of the English people. The accent varies from little to thick and depends on where they are from in the UK. We've had a great time so far.

We also checked out St Pauls Cathedral, super cool. And we were able to clime up the dome and get on top to take pictures of the city. This is a pretty big landmark for them.

Parliament Building from the London Eye. The Eye is the big Ferris wheel on the edge of the river. Goes up over 300 ft .
This is the Tower of London, an old fortress castle on the Thames river. It's right next to Tower Bridge.
